Welcome to the International School of the Islamic Educational College! The legacy of our past shows our commitment to achieve our future goals as we seek excellency and innovation.
We live in a world full of challenges, surprises and more importantly, opportunities. To help students face the ever changing world, IEC strives to empower students with the qualities that would make them impulsive learners and seekers for knowledge. Many await for the Forth Industrial Revolution, where cognitive skills will be more utilized. Our educational systems assist students become the creative thinkers and problems solvers that the world needs.
Islamic heritage is an integral part of our school culture. The Islamic Religion directs out vision and mission, which also leads our perspective of tolerance and acceptance towards other cultures. Our students are strong because they have deep Islamic values and are at the same time open-minded and ready to take in the positive and right virtues of the world. IEC students are well-rounded 21 century students.
As an accredited school of IGCSE, Islamic Educational College offers the British Programme for all grades (CP: Cambridge Primary,
CS: Cambridge lower Secondary, IGCSE and A Level). The Islamic Educational College invests in the professional development of its staff. Therefore, our teachers are equipped with the most recent teaching methods and approaches. They put all their power of knowledge and teaching skills to promote students’ reflective, analytical and innovative thinking skills.
IEC also provides the International Baccalaureate programme (IBDP) in which we are committed to prepare Grades 11 & 12 to be internationally-open minded learners who can have an effective role in community. The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
We are also glad to announce to you that we have started with the application for the IBMYP (International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme).
As a school authorized for both British and IB programmes, we believe that the best contribution in life is to invest in the education of the young learners who can make a difference.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP)
The International Baccalaureate Programme at IEC is a two-year educational programme for students aged 16 – 19. This programme aims to develop and encourage both personal and academic achievement, and challengs students to excel in their studies and personal development. IBDP also strives to prepare students who are equipped to live in the new globally highly integrated world, whereas their intercultural tolerance and respect will be fully utilized. IBDP also enhances students’ sense of responsibility to enable them to face difficulties and challenges. This is done by providing them with a wide range of capacities that go beyond intellectual development and academic success.
All of this is captured in the IB Mission Statement:
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
IEC Mission aligns with the IB Mission:
IEC Mission Statement: The Schools of the Islamic Educational College aim at preparing a generation of youths by providing them with Islamic education and useful sciences so that they can have strong belief, true faith and good manners.
Moreover, the Schools of the Islamic Educational College bring up physically fit youth of forceful personality who are enlightened by Islam, knowledgeable, of good use to their society and proud of their religion, Arabic language, national history and civilization. The kind of youth who are capable confront life wisely, seriously, actively and responsibly.
Throughout the two years of the IB, students develop Approaches to Learning Skills and the attributes of the IB Learner Profile which enables them to be active in their community, think critically and take responsibility for their own educational progress. IB does not only open the doors for best universities in the world, but also provides job opportunities globally.
For 2020 / 2021 academic year IEC offers the following subjects.
Students should take 6 subjects spanning over two years:
Two languages from Group 1 and Group 2
One subject from Group 3
One subject from Group 4
One subject from Group 5
One subject from Group 6 or from other groups (1 to 5))
Group 1: Studies in Language and Literature:
- Arabic A: Literature (HL / SL)
- Arabic B (HL / SL)
- English B (HL / SL)
Group 3: Individuals and Societies
- ITGS (HL / SL)
- Business Management (HL / SL)
- Biology (HL / SL)
- Chemistry (HL / SL)
- Physics (HL / SL)
- Analysis and Approaches (HL / SL)
- Visual Arts (HL / SL)
Students should also complete three core requirements:
- Theory of Knowledge (TOK)
- Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)
- Extended Essay (EE)
IBDP Assessment: The assessment in the IBDP is divided into internal assessment and external assessment. The internal assessment is done internally within the two years course and moderated by the IB examiners. The external examinations are provided by the IB and corrected by a professional team of IB examiners.
The marks awarded for each course range from 1 (lowest) to 7 (highest). Students can also be awarded up to three additional points for their combined results on TOK and EE. Students should earn a minimum 24 points out of a possible 45 points on the assessment of all subjects to earn the Diploma.

British Programme
Welcome to our deep rooted programme IGCSE, whose graduates have been awarded world widely, receiving well distinguished awards such as Outstanding Achievement Awards” covering Top in The Country & Top in The World.
IEC’s journey with the IGCSE started in 2001, and ever since, our students have outstanding results. Nevertheless, remarkable students cannot reach their potentials without our highly qualified teachers who have won many academic awards throughout those years, making our Islamic Educational College- IGCSE Programme one of the most popular IGCSE schools in Jordan.
IGCSE stands for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education. The programme consists of two levels; Ordinary (O- level/ IGCSE) and International Advanced Level (IAL/ GCE). We start our preparation for the IGCSE as early as grade 7 where our students start an intense curriculum covering Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Art, Business in addition to Mathematics and the two languages Arabic and English. Carrying on our mission of enlightenment, German language, Robotics and Social Sciences are provided from primary level to inculcate our vision of empowering our students not only with sciences but also with humanities and creativity that brighten their futuristic paths later. Catering both first and second English language speakers by following the Cambridge CAIE IGCSE curriculum. Without forgetting, the standard courses which are set by The Jordanian Ministry of Education for the requirement of ministry equivalency.
The IGCSE is a content-rich programme. It is mainly exam-based and is assessed through the exam board chosen by the school. The most well-known are Cambridge Assessment International Education and Pearson Edexcel.
Allowing students to choose the topics they wish to study from both streams (the Literary and Scientific streams) according to the admissions criteria of different Universities. The programme consists of two levels; (IGCSE) and International Advanced Level (IAL)

CAIE mission is to provide educational benefit through provision of international programmes and qualifications for school education and to be the world leader in this field. Together with schools, we develop Cambridge learners who are:
